Is it interesting that men like to judge others? We do judge other people. We judge according to our own favor. Our judges show partiality, but God is going to judge every man according to his deeds. There is no partiality with God.
Universal Judgement
There will be judgement for all, those with the law and those without the law; the Jew and the gentile.
Missiological implication:
1. God is the God of the universe. He will judge the nations.

Roman 1:18-25
1. Universality:
"The wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteous of men."
"...His divine nature have been clearly seen"
The subject is not just Israel, but all men. Paul was taking about all the nations. Paul's letter is for the believers in Rome, but the content is about all the nations. There is universality in the book of Roman.
2. What is the wrath of God?
"therefore, God gave them over in the lusts of their heart..."
If God is judging you, you are safe still.
God's wrath is not about judgment, but about "giving them over".
God's chasement is for our good. The judgment to the Israelite mentioned in the OT are all for the goodness of His people.
3. Why God angry?
"they exchanged the truth of God for a lie."
What is meant by the truth of God? "His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, which have been seen and understood"
Supposed that you are an employee of a shop, say jewelry. The owner of the shop goes oversea and let you take care of the shop. What if you took all the jewelry for your own goodness? What if you gave the jewelry to the enemy of the owner, just to please them?
4. This passage is a counter part of v16-17, the righteous shall live by faith.
God is pleased if we trust in Him, while God is angry if we exchange the truth of God for a lie.
We should trust in Him that Jesus is the Son of God resurrected from the dead (v4). Paul set his example of living by faith. He was under obligation to share the gospel of Jesus to the nations (v.14). He was not ashamed of the gospel. We should also not be ashamed of the gospel, but preach the gospel to the nations. (v14-16)

Roman 1:8-16
Paul prayed for the belivers in Rome.
The believers in Rome, though not many, were active and known all over the world.
Why? Because they have faith in Jesus, and because Paul and other disciples were praying for them
WOW! This is great.
How many believers in your country/city?
We can make a different!
Paul prayed for believers in Rome, longed to see them and share spiritual gift to make them strong.
What is in Paul's mind, Paul wanted to co-work (not just teacher-student relationship) with believers in Rome. In other words, Paul saw the potential and importance of the Church of Rome. Paul wanted them also take part in the World Mission. (v.12)
Dr. Charles Van Engen said "Romans is Paul's greatest missionary book. Many believed that Roman is a doctrinal book. Right, but the reason why Paul taugth those Doctrine especially in Roman? It is because He wanted to build another Antioch Church!"
Paul shifted his gear into v14-16. Paul said he was obligated to share the gospel of Jesus to all the people, including people in Rome. This versus may seems to explain why he wanted to go to Rome, but behind the surface, Paul wanted to inform the Church in Rome the significance of sharing the gospel through his testimony. Paul further explained and urged the Church in Rome to be brave and not ashamed of the gospel!
* What are the key ideas here?
1. Paul prayed
2. The faith of the believers in Rome was well known all over the world, even under unfavourable situation.
3. Paul wanted to strengthen the Church and share spiritual gifts to the believers in Rome.
4. Paul used his example to teach the significant of sharing the gospel to the nations.
Actions:
1. Pray for the disciples in Sendai and Hong Kong.
2. Pray that they can be strengthen and gifted in Christ.
3. Pray that they will also take part in the World Mission.
4. Be pepared to share the gospel to other in my city. (prepare gospel bags with food/water/gospel tract/Portland Rescue Mission information. Bring them to the homeless nearby.)
